The years 1968 and 1969, the events of which are recounted in these two volumes, are decisive for the development of the Soka Gakkai, because they see its president Shin'ichi Yamamoto take on a very delicate and important task. At the invitation of some Chinese government officials, Shin'ichi takes it upon himself to initiate the process that over the course of several years will lead to the reopening of diplomatic relations between China and Japan. The initiative naturally causes many repercussions, as the Soka Gakkai president's action affects foreign policy issues with respect to which the Japanese government has taken a very cautious stance. But Shin'ichi Yamamoto is certain of the fact that the peoples of the two nations desire peace and mutual friendship above all else, and he is ready to face any difficulty to see his great goal realized.

Daisaku Ikeda (1928-2023) was a Buddhist teacher, peacemaker, educator, author and poet. He was president of the international Buddhist lay association Soka Gakkai International (SGI), which has members in 192 pae3si and territories around the world. He founded Soka University, the Institute of Eastern Philosophy and other institutions for the promotion and dissemination of culture and peace. In 1983 he was awarded the United Nations Peace Prize.

Our 14-day returns policy states that after you receive an item, you have 14 days to request a return.
To be eligible for a return, the item must be in the same condition as you received it, must not have been worn or used, must have all tags, and must be in its original packaging. In addition, you will need the purchase order reference.

If the return is accepted, you will have to proceed with the shipment yourself. Items must be packaged and protected appropriately such that their integrity is guaranteed. Items sent without a previous return request or that are found to be unsaleable will not be accepted and refunded.

14-day cooling-off period for the European Union
As stated above, if the merchandise is shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return the order within 14 days for any reason and without having to provide any justification. In addition, you will need your receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
As soon as we have received and inspected your return, we will notify you to let you know whether or not your refund has been approved. If approved, within 10 business days you will receive your refund automatically through your original payment method. It may take some time for the bank or credit card company to process and make the refund visible.
