The year 1976 is of great importance for the development of educational activities promoted by the Soka Gakkai. Driven by Shin'ichi Yamamoto's desire to carry out the mandate of founder Makiguchi and his master Josei Toda, the organization devotes great care to expanding the Soka educational system: the goal is to create educational offerings ranging from kindergartens to universities, while also trying to meet the needs of the many people active in the working world.
Explaining the motivations behind the educational projects, the author recounts the time when Josei Toda decided to take on the work necessary to reorganize and finally publish his teacher Tsunesaburo Makiguchi's work, Creative Education.
The second half of the year also saw a particularly sad time for President Yamamoto's family. His mother Sachi, who had already been widowed for many years, has a worsening health condition and dies in September. Some very touching moments of her life, which was always lived with cheerfulness and a spirit of defiance despite many difficulties, are recalled in the novel.
1977 is designated by the Soka Gakkai as the Year of Study: Shin'ichi Yamamoto devotes all his energies to explaining the basic principles of the Buddhist faith in order to instill in all members the spirit of standing up on their own in the face of whatever difficulties they face and to invite them to play a leading role in everyday life.
Daisaku Ikeda (1928-2023) was a Buddhist teacher, peacemaker, educator, author and poet. He was president of the international Buddhist lay association Soka Gakkai International (SGI), which has members in 192 countries and territories around the world. He founded Soka University, the Institute of Eastern Philosophy and other institutions for the promotion and dissemination of culture and peace. In 1983 he was awarded the United Nations Peace Prize.

Our 14-day returns policy states that after you receive an item, you have 14 days to request a return.

If the return is accepted, you will have to proceed with the shipment yourself. Items must be packaged and protected appropriately such that their integrity is guaranteed. Items sent without a previous return request or that are found to be unsaleable will not be accepted and refunded.

14-day cooling-off period for the European Union
As stated above, if the merchandise is shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return the order within 14 days for any reason and without having to provide any justification. Refunds
As soon as we have received and inspected your return, we will notify you to let you know whether or not your refund has been approved. If approved, within 10 business days you will receive your refund automatically through your original payment method. It may take some time for the bank or credit card company to process and make the refund visible.
